Top-ten tips for ultrasound guided joint injections

Ultrasound-guided (USG) injections is and will be increasingly used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. All the extremity joints can be identified by musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS). Accurate needle placement using MSKUS avoids damage to critical para-articular tissues, is less uncomfortable for the patient, and ensures accurate delivery of the drug or contrast material into the joint. Careful planning and technique should facilitate safe and successful USG joint injections. Lee et al. (2019) have written a very informative article on top-ten tips for USG joint injections.
