Associate Professor of Radiology

Dr. Hannes Gruber studied human medicine at the Leopold Franzens University of Innsbruck, where he graduated in 1998 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He began his medical career as an assistant doctor at the Institute of Anatomy and Histology of the Innsbruck Medical University under Prof. H. Fritsch, before continuing his training at the University Clinics of Radiodiagnostics under Prof. W. Jaschke. In 2006, he qualified as a specialist in radiology.

In 2007, Dr. Gruber completed his state doctorate (venia docendi) at Innsbruck Medical University, focusing his research on high-resolution sonography of the peripheral nervous system. Since 2008, he has served as an Associate Professor at the Clinical Department of Radiology at Innsbruck Medical University.

Dr. Gruber has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, with a primary focus on musculoskeletal radiology, peripheral nerve ultrasound, and interventional sonography. His work has contributed significantly to advancing ultrasound as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool, particularly in the field of peripheral nerve imaging and ultrasound-guided interventions.

He is an internationally recognized expert in musculoskeletal and nerve ultrasound, frequently invited to lecture and teach at scientific meetings and hands-on courses worldwide.
