Join Key-Opinion-Leader Stephen Bird (AU) for an exclusive live webinar! This 90-minute session offers a comprehensive and systematic exploration of the most commonly encountered musculoskeletal pathologies seen during ultrasound examinations. Instead of narrowing its focus, it equips you with universal principles that can be applied to any MSK region—helping you interpret findings with clarity and consistency across all clinical scenarios.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- Apply core clinical principles to interpret musculoskeletal ultrasound findings consistently across different anatomical regions.
- Recognize and differentiate tendon and enthesis-related pathologies, including tendinopathies, enthesopathies, and the synovial entheseal complex.
- Identify patterns of inflammatory and degenerative joint disease, including arthritis, erosions, pannus, and intra-articular abnormalities such as loose bodies.
- Distinguish key crystal and deposition diseases on ultrasound, including hydroxyapatite deposition, CPPD, gout, and xanthomas, as well as differentiate calcification types.
- Evaluate common muscle and soft tissue pathologies, including muscle injuries, bleeding, fascial disorders, bursae, and conditions such as rhabdomyolysis and myositis ossificans.
- Recognize bone-related stress and developmental injuries, including stress reactions, fractures, apophyseal injuries, and avulsion injuries.
- Identify less common but critical conditions, including oncologic findings and peripheral nerve pathologies such as compression syndromes and neuralgic amyotrophy.

Clinical relevance
For anyone performing MSK ultrasound, this session is more than educational—it is foundational. It builds a shared language for describing pathology, ensuring clearer communication between clinicians. More importantly, it sharpens your ability to distinguish between conditions that may look deceptively similar on ultrasound—such as hydroxyapatite deposition, gout, and CPPD. By the end of the webinar, you won’t just recognize abnormalities—you’ll understand them, describe them confidently, and differentiate them with precision in real clinical practice.
