Webinar Series: Ultrasound in Women's & Men's Health

This comprehensive 3-part webinar aims to provide participants with ultrasound techniques for both evaluation and treatment of multiple perineal dysfunctions.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • Transducer positions to scan the pelvic floor
  • Scanning and understanding pelvic floor muscle function
  • Measurement of most relevant landmarks
  • Sonographic assessment of the abdominal wall function
  • Utilization of ultrasound as a biofeedback tool for the management of pelvic floor disorders
Part 1: Transabdominal ultrasound of the pelvic floor
Pelvic floor anatomy and function, evaluation of the paravaginal tissue, pelvic floor muscles contraction quantification (mode B and M), bladder volume and post-void residual volume, ultrasound as a biofeedback tool.

Part 2: Transperineal ultrasound
Pelvic floor anatomy and function, pelvic floor muscles contraction quantification, urethral mobility quantification, posterior urethrovesical and anorectal angle assessment, pelvic organ prolapse assessment, anal sphincter evaluation, ultrasound as a biofeedback tool.

Part 3: abdominal wall assessment in abdominal and pelvic floor disorders
Abdominal function and pelvic floor disorders, sonographic assessment of abdominal muscles: morphology and function (validity, reliability and clinical relevance), relevant landmarks, diastasis recti management and sonographic assessment (inter-recti distance, distortion index and functional evaluation), ultrasound as a biofeedback tool.
